The Scientist and I enjoyed a night of fishing at Twin Lakes in Columbia.

That really amounts to me knitting and listening to podcasts,

And the Scientist casting his fishing pole around (and getting it stuck in the water),

While the cutest little turtle swam in and out of view,

along with Canada geese with their babies.

I kept hearing this wooshing noise, and looked up to see a hot air balloon.

We have started the next chapter of our lives together. The Scientist has successfully finished his last graduate school class ever and HIS EVENINGS ARE FREE (for the most part). It's so nice to be able to have him in my life more and I really look forward spending the rest of my life with him.

I just realized that I sound relatively happy in this post and that's pretty much how I feel right now. I feel like I have let out a sigh of relief because I have been so worried about Josh finishing his classes for the last two years and know his is FINISHED, and I have my husband back!

  1. Congrats to The Scientist. I remember being so glad when The Hubby was through with his MBA classes and I got my "date" back again. And if I didn't like your blog already, for the pugs and the knitting and the frankness, I'd love it for the fact that you correctly called them "Canada geese," not "Canadian geese." One must keep up one's standards. Hah!

  2. Congratulations to The Scientist. I think I underestimated how much of a toll my PhD research and writing took on my husband. I can only see it now that it's over and done with. I hope you both enjoy the extra time with each other.
    The pictures are lovely!
